007 First Light and Denuvo: What We Know So Far
IO Interactive’s 007 First Light: checked Steam sources do not currently show Denuvo — here’s what that means for performance, ownership and offline play.

IO Interactive’s 007 First Light arrives for PC on May 27, 2026, and one of the bigger pre-launch questions has been whether the game will ship with Denuvo anti-tamper technology. The short answer: the checked Steam sources do not currently show a Denuvo listing for the PC build.
That finding comes from an examination of the publicly visible PC release information and the accompanying app metadata. Neither the store-facing product details nor the searchable metadata field used to flag third-party anti-tamper providers currently list Denuvo for this AppID. This means there is no apparent Denuvo entry in the pages typically used to signal third-party DRM at launch.
What that does — and doesn’t — mean for players is important to keep in mind. The absence of a Denuvo listing now does not guarantee it will never be added; publishers sometimes change DRM arrangements before or after launch. Conversely, if Denuvo remains absent at release, that removes one common source of player concern about possible background processes and post-launch activation restrictions. Many players care about Denuvo for reasons including performance, offline access, long-term ownership and the ability to preserve copies of games. There is no blanket rule that Denuvo causes problems, but its presence or absence is often factored into purchase decisions.
For those following the DRM question, keep an eye on official publisher communications and the PC product metadata that surfaces on release platforms. If a publisher announces a change or the anti-tamper field is updated to include Denuvo, that will be the clearest signal. For a quick primer on different approaches, see the explainer on DRM protections (/protections).
Until any such update appears, the current public PC entries do not list Denuvo for 007 First Light. Prospective buyers who prioritize either an anti-tamper-free install or maximum compatibility should monitor official channels and the PC product page as the May 27, 2026 launch approaches.
