A new recruiting note from Playground Games quietly suggests Fable is still slated to launch in 2026. The line appears in a February LinkedIn post that highlights open roles and reads, in part, that both Forza Horizon 6 and Fable are “coming this year.”
The claim first surfaced in a thread on GamingLeaksAndRumours, where users flagged the wording as a small but notable signal after months of speculation around the RPG’s window. While it’s not a date, the phrasing aligns with the game’s previously communicated 2026 timing and suggests Playground is still aiming for a release before year’s end.
What’s new and what isn’t
LinkedIn blurbs are not the same as a formal launch announcement, but they don’t typically freelance release windows either. Coming from the studio’s own account, the note adds a sliver of confidence that internal planning remains 2026. That said, it stops short of revealing a specific day or even a season, and Microsoft hasn’t issued a fresh public statement to lock anything in.
Recent chatter from well-known industry voices has also left the door open to movement. Some reports have suggested the team “is still trying” for this year but could shift if launch timing becomes crowded or the schedule demands extra polish. None of that amounts to an official delay, and until Microsoft or Playground says otherwise, 2026 remains the operative target.
