Final Fantasy Resonance Announced With Denuvo on PC

Final Fantasy Resonance was announced as a new pixel-art RPG from Square Enix and LANCARSE, and the PC version already has one technical detail that will be watched closely before launch. The game is set for October 22, 2026, with pre-purchase now live, a Digital Deluxe Edition available, and Denuvo Anti-Tamper attached to the release.

That is an early detail for a game that is still months away. Square Enix is presenting Final Fantasy Resonance as a return to the series’ classic pixel-art roots, but not as a simple retro throwback. The page describes a world built around crystals, airships, espers, moogles, strategic turn-based battles, and “Visions” of familiar Final Fantasy heroes who can join the party in combat.

Denuvo is already part of the announcement

Final Fantasy Resonance is currently set to launch with Denuvo Anti-Tamper on PC. The game’s PC release information includes third-party DRM, meaning the protection is already part of the pre-launch package rather than something appearing only after system requirements or final launch details are settled.

That matters because Final Fantasy has a long PC history with Denuvo. Some releases arrived with it, some had it removed later, and players now tend to check the DRM status early instead of waiting until launch week. For a turn-based RPG, the discussion is not only about raw frame rate. It is also about offline access, long-term ownership, preservation, and whether a single-player game remains easy to revisit years after release.

A classic-style RPG with modern PC details

The interesting part is the contrast. Final Fantasy Resonance looks like a nostalgic project on the surface, with pixel art, crystals, airships, and party-based battles. At the same time, the PC version is being sold like a modern Square Enix release, with pre-order bonuses, a Digital Deluxe Edition, a third-party EULA, full controller support, Steam Cloud, and Denuvo already listed.

The system requirements are also public. The minimum target asks for Windows 11, 8 GB RAM, an AMD Ryzen 3 2300X or Intel Core i3-8100, and a GTX 1650, RX 6400, or Intel Arc A580 for 1080p at 30 FPS on low settings. The recommended target still stays modest, aiming for 1080p at 60 FPS on the highest preset with a Ryzen 5 2500X or Intel Core i3-8100 and a GTX 1650, RX 5500 XT, or Arc A580.

The real test comes at launch

None of this means Final Fantasy Resonance will perform poorly. Denuvo alone does not decide how a PC port runs, and the listed hardware targets suggest Square Enix is not aiming for a heavy technical showcase. The bigger question is how the final build handles frame pacing, loading, controller support, Steam Deck behavior, and the general feel of its turn-based combat loop.

For now, the DRM status is clear. Final Fantasy Resonance has been announced for PC with Denuvo Anti-Tamper already attached, months before its October 2026 release.
