Age of Empires II: DE - The Viking Sagas is due on September 22, 2026, and brings a focused Viking-themed expansion to the venerable Age of Empires II engine; developed by World's Edge, Forgotten Empires, CaptureAge, Tantalus Media, Wicked Witch and Feral Interactive, the project is confirmed for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch (Feral’s involvement hints at the handheld-friendly port). It’s a strategy expansion that puts the Danes, Saxons and Varangians front and center, promising new campaigns and scenarios, era-faithful units and historically flavoured mechanics — essentially a concentrated redraw of the medieval northern theaters for fans who love tight RTS tactics and cinematic, lore-rich missions.
