Resident Evil Veronica is finally bringing one of the most requested Resident Evil remakes to modern platforms. Capcom is revisiting the 2000 survival horror entry with updated gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and the RE Engine look that has defined the newer Resident Evil era. For many fans, this is not a side project. Code: Veronica has always sat closer to the mainline story than its title suggests, especially because of Claire and Chris Redfield’s roles after Raccoon City.
The current PC DRM picture, however, is not fully locked yet. Resident Evil Veronica does not currently show a Denuvo notice on its public PC listing. There is no visible third-party DRM label naming Denuvo, and the system requirements are still mostly placeholder information.
Capcom’s Resident Evil DRM history still matters
That does not mean the game should be treated as permanently free of Denuvo. Capcom has repeatedly used Denuvo Anti-Tamper across major Resident Evil PC launches, especially with its modern remakes and newer mainline releases. Because of that history, Resident Evil Veronica will likely stay on the DRM watchlist until its launch details are more complete.
The timing also matters. The game is planned for 2027, which gives Capcom plenty of room to update the store page, add final PC requirements, open pre-orders, or adjust the release setup. If Denuvo is added later, it would not be surprising given the publisher’s recent pattern.
The Requiem case keeps the topic active
The Denuvo conversation around Resident Evil has also stayed fresh because of recent activity around the series. The Resident Evil Requiem Denuvo crack report involving voices38 turned DRM tracking back into a live topic for Capcom’s horror franchise, especially among players who follow crack status, launch protections, and post-release DRM changes.
That does not prove anything about Resident Evil Veronica. It simply explains why players are checking early. When a major Resident Evil game appears on PC, the Denuvo question usually follows close behind.
What to watch before launch
For now, Resident Evil Veronica’s biggest confirmed PC details are its 2027 release window, single-player focus, Capcom as developer and publisher, and placeholder system requirements. The game is not currently showing a Denuvo listing, but that status should be watched as Capcom moves closer to release.
The safest answer right now is simple: Resident Evil Veronica does not currently list Denuvo on PC, but Capcom’s recent Resident Evil history makes the DRM question far from closed.
